CIDA is a non-profit organization.  They have their own educational ‘CIDA City Campus’ of higher learning.  The company was founded in 1999, within the CBD of Johannesburg.  They add to the economic and social development of South Africa, via their tertiary education provided to previously disadvantaged South Africans.  They offer deserving student access to high-quality education in business, as well as entrepreneurship.

CIDA Graduate Internship Programme 2024 Requirements

To become part of the CIDA internships, candidates must study at their Campus for higher learning.  CIDA offers an internship with their academic fields.  They help their students to become practical and business ready before graduating.  They have high placement rates with efficient resource utilization.  Their students, even from disadvantaged backgrounds, have a higher completion rate of their studies than that of the Higher education system publically.

This is due to their scholarship program, as they cover approximately 95% of all learning costs per student.  Therefore students studying with them can place their focus on learning.  CIDA additionally also offers their students an Extranet Program.  With this program, they are able to plow back into their own communities.  Students will be partaking in educational community programs.

Candidates will also be required to have the following:



  • Candidates must be a South African citizen
  • Candidates must hold a valid ID book/card
  • Candidates must be willing to stay or move to where the need is highest, even rural areas
  • Candidates must be willing and eager to study
  • Candidates must have leadership qualities

CIDA Internships Application

Internships online applications are not available. CIDA offers their graduates, an internship as part of their final study year. Once graduates leave their campus, they are employment ready.  They have a careers center, which assists students in preparing for the business work.  They aid them in preparations for interviews, with a workplace ready program as well.

They guide their student step-by-step, through most obstacles they may encounter within the workplace.  Additionally, they also offer their students a fashion-hub, on campus as part of their readiness program.  This aims to teach students about formal wear, work wear and what is appropriate for all work places.  Most of their students tend to join the investment or banking industries, however, they also provide qualified candidates to other key sectors of business.

CIDA Internships Closing Dates

There are no closing dates for internships offered by CIDA.  Many of their graduating candidates were to be educational drop-outs.  However, with aid from CIDA’s effective foundation program, these students were empowered.  They were able to bridge the gap between high school and a tertiary education.  Furthermore, with the internship offered by CIDA to their tertiary students, the gap between graduate and employment is also take out of play.

Most of their students, may not have qualified for University, but with the assistance from CIDA, many of their graduates earn above R15000 per month.  The offer school drop-outs, an equal opportunity to quality education, breaking the bonds of poverty.  They deliver leaders back into communities, aiding in the economic transformation of South Africa.
